Dr Priya Shanmugalingam

Priya is committed to scientific study and continuous professional education courses. She is dedicated to following up with the latest science and technology in evidence-based dentistry and is in the fortunate position of having the clinical freedom to fully embrace this.

She has completed a Master program of the Brener Institute of Implantology, and has attended Progressive Orthodontics Seminars, Invisalign and ClearCorrect provider courses. She also is trained to use Oral Appliance Therapy in Sleep Dentistry. Priya has experience in demonstrating and training best clinical practices to dental students at James Cook University, as well as to auxiliary dental professionals.

Priya is competent in all aspects of General Dentistry including Implants, Root Canal Treatments, Crown and Bridge Prosthodontic work and Orthodontics work.

Priya’s vast skills and knowledge has led her to do extensive reconstructive and rehabilitative work on heavily worn down and neglected teeth and mouth. Her skills extend to surgical procedures such as implant placement, surgical wisdom tooth removal and soft tissue surgical procedures. She is also a certified laser dentist.

Dr Priya is focused on and has committed herself to designing cosmetically enhanced smiles that enable patients to feel confident and proud about their smile, thus improving their general well being.

She also understands the financial burden of the dental treatments and has devoted herself to providing affordable yet fully functional and aesthetically pleasing treatments according to your personal circumstances.

Priya cares for her community. She has a passion for treating children, focusing on prevention rather than invasive treatments. She has done volunteer work as a dentist in underprivileged community organisations.

Dr Priya Shanmugalingam is a member of the Australian Dental Association and the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry.
